Melbourne Domain Tunnel truck and car crash

This was a story on A Current Affair which was about dangerous driving. By coincidence the car that was fitted with cameras to demonstrate this was directly in front of an accident inside the Domain tunnel, so it was captured on video.
Watch the marone mercedes move into the centre lane, out of view of the truck’s mirrors as he indicates to change into the same lane. Once the truckie moves left a collision is inevitable.

Note this was in Australia which is a RIGHT HAND drive country. For those of you who think there’s no one in the car, look more closely.

freightliner44, I would be interested to know the name of the owner, I wonder if you and the others that worked for them were members of the twu, I thought the union should be able to help in these matters as I have stated on here before the truck drivers need to stand up! As for owner drivers they can only blame themselves for their situation for they must stand up too and refuse to meet the deadlines demanded without a cut in pay! Too many are driving trucks like sports cars! sted read!
If you think the driver is bad, I worked for the owner. He has no regard for the law, overworks his drivers,they have no time off to sleep, this was an accident waiting to happen, and Im sure he will be in for many more. Get rid of the rogue operators

PiliaeAl, It is sad that you resort to swearing in an attempt to get your point across, it sounds to me like you require some “anger management” as do a number of “truck drivers” here, this site is not under “Parental security” control so indeed children do read them, the fact you show contempt for them is a display of your character! The FACT is that the truck driver was travelling faster than all other vehicles, he was tailgating, and he crossed in to the lane after the Mercedes, undisputable!
yes, he was questioned by Alan jones on 2GB 954 Sydney, he blamed the mercedes driver. that was prior to the media releasing this tape. and dont tell me not to swear you fucken sheltered workshop child. fuck you.
look at the vid. how many times does this happen where 2 vehichles merge into one lane? the mercedes was in the right but you have to look at the factors affecting this.like that show seconds before disaster.fuck off have a nice day .please dont read this kids..dont watch tv either
Who defended his actions the truck driver? who had a suspended licence? I believe the mercedes was in the lane before the truck [who was going faster then all other vehicles] there fore the truck is at fault, I’m not sure what your opinion is? And don’t swear [children read these comments].
The facts are, this fuckwit–came on the radio defending his actions before this video was released by the media, He did not realise that the car in front had a parcel tray cam–the car mercedes was a tv channel car–the car in front was with that car. The fact is that the mercedes moved right to overtake a vn commodore but was pushed over by the semi who may not have seen her as they merged into same lane. THE FACT IS__HE HAD A SUSPENDED DRIVERS LICENSE.. so dont talk bullshit, i like facts

Actually in Canada and America, our vehicles have the steering wheel on the left side, opposite of Australia, who are right-hand drive. Our slow lanes here are the right lanes, which means that the passing lanes in Canada are the ones on the left. Just to clarify that point.

The fact is that statistics don’t lie, its not about anyone being right or wrong it is about the facts. And the fact is that here in Australia vehicles in general [not just trucks] drive in the right lane[as if in Anerica] even when they are not overtaking or making a right hand turn, this is what causes all the congestion and when trucks [who take much longer from 0 to the speed limit of whatever road slows all traffic,and worse trucks tail gate and intimidate other road users, Keep left!
I know I said I left this arguement a week ago but I just can’t resist saying this: If we were to eliminate all transport trucks and replace them with trains, then people like djc0248 will just start complaining about the number of train accidents at grade crossings because of impatient motorists trying to beat all of the trains that will be on the rails. Face it guys, djc0248 will never admit he is wrong, it’s just easier to let him think he’s right and be done with it.

hey stod 904….. there seems to be more and more people who agree with me in regard to dangerous truck drivers tailgating and speeding etc!….even the police agree! bring back the trains for long distance haul and get these dangerous trucks off our roads!
It would be rather hard to hate what you are and I did not say I hated Aussies just I think they are dopy and can’t drive.
As for the chaser series, I find it funny. Being an Aussie I can laugh and also find very sad where my country has gone. The community poilce officer in chaser is very true.
If you don’t care what I say then why bother to look up what I am watching.
If you hate Australians so much, why are you even watching video’s of Australian show’s such as The Chaser’s?
